Ovo acquisition of Spark fantastic news for rental sector

11th December 2018

Spark CEO Chris Gauld has voiced his confidence over the recent announcement that OVO Group has acquired Spark Energy in a move which will ‘significantly benefit the rental sector’.

Tili is part of the Spark family, a highly innovative group that delivers a broad range of home services on behalf of agents and landlords. It’s business as usual for Spark, who will continue to add value to its existing customers, with no disruption.

New opportunities for Spark customers

There will be many new opportunities for Spark customers now that it is part of OVO Group, such as the offer of a 100% renewable energy tariff, a range of additional home services and new digital innovations which will greatly support the rental sector.

Spark remains the only specialist utility company for the rental market, managing supplies of property portfolios for landlords, agents and lettings firms – adopting supply during void periods and handling all administration.

As a trusted, long-term partner for many of the industry’s most established companies, Spark’s quality of service and expertise is invaluable, saving time and money for its partners.

'Significant benefit' to the rental sector

Chris Gauld, Spark CEO said: “This is great news which will significantly benefit the rental sector. Spark is now part of the UK’s largest independent energy supplier and a very successful group of companies. We will service our customers, under OVO’s licence, from our existing offices, and continue to grow our niche model of partnering with leading letting and estate agent companies.

“I’m delighted that we can continue to evolve as part of the OVO family with a renewed confidence in the future despite the challenges the energy sector is facing.”

Alongside its gas and electricity arm, Spark also supplies broadband, telephony and bespoke Sky TV packages, specially tailored to the requirements of people in rented accommodation.
